PROTECTING AN ORIGINAL

There are occasions when a treasured or valuable painting is simply too important to leave on display.

Whether for reasons of security, conservation, value or environmental sensitivity, a carefully created master copy allows an original artwork to be safely stored and protected, while retaining its familiar presence.

I create individually commissioned master copies in oils, working from the original artwork and high-quality photographic reference. Each painting is approached with careful attention to composition, colour, light, texture and character, creating a faithful hand-painted interpretation of the original.

For particularly personal works, including family portraits, inherited paintings and pieces that have occupied the same place for generations, a master copy can allow the original to be preserved without losing the enjoyment, memories and sense of place associated with it.
